BMW 5 Series Touring Pricing and Specifications announced

Boasting increased luggage capacity and versatility the BMW 5 Series Touring official pricing and specifications have been announced for the Australian market.

Two engine configurations will be on offer, 2 litres and turbocharged 4 cylinders for both. The 520d powered by diesel is the more efficient of the two with an impressive 4.9L/100km economy rating whereas the 530i comes loaded with 185kW of power making it the more athletic choice.

Pricing starts off at $99,900 for the BMW 520d Touring and moves up to $115,500 for the BMW 530i Touring with both models hitting the showrooms in October 2017.

Cargo functionality and ergonomics has been bolstered with the addition of an electrically operated automatic tailgate with window access, automatic retractable cargo cover and contactless closing operated by a proximity sensor which senses when you swipe a foot under the rear bumper.

Roller sunblinds adorn the rear side windows while the roof is treated to matte finished roof rails, a specialised luggage compartment package comprising of two sliding rails and four mounted fastening points can be found inside to ensure your luggage remains in place after a spot of spirited driving.

While retaining complete passenger capacity the BMW 5 Series Touring provides 570L luggage space which expands up to 1,700L after dropping the remotely folding 40:20:40 seats.

Those looking to tailor their car have a collection of 13 different exterior paint options supported by 7 Dakota leather upholstery colours and four Nappa leather colours for the 530i in Luxury Line Trim as well as six trim finish options.

In standard trim both the 520d and 530i come just as well equipped as the 5 Series sedan that they’re based on.

As standard the 520d is fitted with BMW’s Luxury Line bringing additional style and flare to the Bavarian sedan though it can be optioned with the M Sport package for drivers after a more engaging drive and aggressive appearance.

By default the 530i arrives with the M Sport Package however if owners prefer style to speed the no cost option of the Luxury Line package is also available.

Innovation Package – BMW Display Key, Remote Control Parking and Gesture Control ($1,600).
Comfort Package – Dynamic Damper Control, High Beam Assist, Lumbar Support for driver and front passenger, heated comfort seats for driver and passenger ($2,700 with Luxury Line or $2,100 with M Sport).
Exclusive Package for 520d Luxury Line – 19 inch alloy wheels available in two styles, Nappa Leather Upholstery, Dynamic Damper Control, High-Beam Assist, heated comfort seats for driver and passenger ($6,400).
Precision Package – 16 Speaker Harman/Kardon surround sound system, Adaptive LED Headlights, Multi-Function Instrument Display and High-Beam Assist.
