Sharper claws for Jaguar XE, XF and F-PACE

Jaguar’s new Ingenium petrol engine will be the bringing increased performance, economy and emissions to their XE and XF sedans as well as the F-PACE SUV model. The 2.0 litre four cylinder turbocharged Ingenium petrol engine packs a punch with 221kW of power backed up by a mighty 400Nm of torque. How does that translate into real world performance? 100kmh from a stand still will fly by in 6 seconds for the F-PACE and even less for the XF and XE sedans. Once calmed down expect the Ingenium to sip as little as 6.7 litres per 100km when powering the XE sedan with the XF not far behind.

We continue to broaden the range of our Ingenium engine family, giving customers more choice than ever before. Our new 221kW petrol engine provides the performance synonymous with Jaguar, while delivering enhanced fuel economy thanks to its state-of-the-art exhaust technology and pioneering valve train design. This clean and more efficient engine perfectly complements the advanced lightweight aluminium body structure of our XE, XF and F-PACE models.” said Nick Rogers the Executive Director of Product Engineering for Jaguar.

The improved performance is thanks to the latest engine technology offered by Jaguar Land Rover and will be built at the half a billion pound Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, UK. Ceramic ball bearings have been fitted to the twin-scroll turbos lowering friction while the high flow compressor wheel delivers performance gains.

Drivers now have a larger selection with the new Ingenium petrol sitting along side a 2.0 litre 147kW unit for the XE and XF where the F-PACE enjoys 180kW. A 177kW 2.0 litre twin turbo diesel was also introduced to the lineup earlier in the year.
